Our time at the 19th Chicago European Union Film Festival was unforgettable! The Saturday night screening sold out in advance and both screenings were packed with vibrant crowds. The festival's Executive Director Jean de St. Aubin and Lithuanian Consul General Marijus Gudynas gave introductions at our premiere screening, and the Vilnius Committee of Chicago Sister Cities International threw a fabulous party. Our Monday night screening featured introductions by the festival's Director of Programming Barbara Scharres, MJ Slykas of iHeartMedia's 103.5 KISS FM, and First Secretary of the Lithuanian Consulate, Laura Dilytė-Butkienė. Both screenings were followed by lively audience discussions.
Words cannot describe how moving it was to meet with audience members after the screenings, some of them approaching me in tears to express how much the film meant to them. The love I felt from the Chicago Lithuanian community was magical. Many thanks to all who came!
In other news - I'm thrilled to announce that Land of Songs will be screening with the Los Angeles European Union Film Festival in May! Details forthcoming...
